Basic Job Functions :
Nucor Steel Lexington is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Accountant . This position is designed to develop the candidate into the next leader at Nucor so a successful candidate will have a desire to pursue advancement within the organization. The Senior Accountant responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- All accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, tax, financial and compliance reporting, forecasting, costing files, inventory management, and recording and timely reporting of accounting records / transactions
- Driving continuous cost improvements across all aspects of the business
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies
- Coordination of external and internal audit processes and ensuring that proper internal controls are maintained
- Providing analytical support to other departments as it relates to accounting issues
- Coordinate month, quarter, and year end close procedures
