Structural Design Engineer
NBG West, a Division of Nucor Corporation, is seeking applications for a position as a Design Engineer at our office in Lathrop, CA. Annual salary ranges from $80,000-$99,600 plus significant bonus incentives.
Basic Job Functions :
- Create complete, high quality, safe, accurate and cost-effective design calculations for metal building structures provided by NBG while maintaining committed schedules.
- Provide "Value Engineering" when designing projects to maximize profitability while considering manufacturing capabilities and ease of construction.
- Review shop and erection drawings for accuracy. Seal drawings and calculations as required.
- Provide technical expertise through phone conversations, in-person meetings, emails, and letters.
- Provide innovative and creative solutions for field issues and modifications.
- Periodic travel as required to meetings, job sites, and other Nucor divisions.
- Keep up with current building codes through organized training sessions and self-study.
- Effectively respond to questions and comments from building officials and field inspectors.
- Develop leadership skills, develop relationships with customers and teammates, maintain a "can-do" attitude.
