What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Health Safety Engineer position at Nucor Data Systems?
BASIC JOB FUNCTIONS : The EHS Engineers responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking care of our customers by executing the division’s Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, & Profitability objectives. This role includes the implementation and maintenance of Nucor Data Systems environmental, health, and safety programs. Other responsibilities include recordkeeping, performing inspections, teammate training, and internal auditing. Safety is the most important part of all jobs at Nucor; therefore, candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, and procedures while promoting the Nucor safety culture.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent
2 years Environmental, Health, and / or Safety experience
PREFERENCES :
OSHA 10 hour or greater training experience
HAZWOPER, DOT HazMat Transportation, and / or RCRA Hazardous Waste trained
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering or related experience.
Experience working with federal / state safety regulations and laws
At least two years of experience working in an industrial environment applying safety policies and development of safety and loss prevention programs
Experience with safety management systems and / or OSHA VPP
Knowledge of Safety, Quality or Environmental Management Systems. Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, ANSI, IBIH and other regulatory standards, protocols and compliance in order to create policies and procedures.
Current First Aid / CPR Certification
Must have supervisor and / or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
