What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Administrator position at Nucor Harris Rebar?

Basic Job Functions :
- Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Maintain warehouse inventory stock.
- Coordinate weekly, monthly and quarterly cycle counts for shipping warehouse and trim inventory (Potential to extend to all ‘other materials’, i.e. paint, pack, weld items).
- Rotate inventory stock, following First In-First Out (FIFO).
- Coordinate with the Purchasing department on special color coils remaining after jobs have been completed that can be sold.
- Coordinate with the Quality, Purchasing, and Finance departments on disposition of obsolete or rejected material.
- Establish processes and procedures to promote organization and streamline the flow of inventory to help reduce processing errors and increase efficiency.
- Coordinate the disposal or sale of any obsolete parts or unused ‘job specific’ items.
- Able to work a flexible schedule as needed.
- Overnight travel for training will be required.
