Basic Job Functions :
NTP-LV is seeking applicants for the position of Safety Engineer. Potential candidates must have a positive recommendation from their Supervisor, Department Manager, and General Manager (if applicable) as well as the following basic qualifications :
- Cultivate a culture of safety awareness & housekeeping stewardship
- Provide support / resources to operations, maintenance and engineering for the implementation of safety and ergonomic improvements.
- Understand, implement and communicate federal, state and local OSHA regulations.
- Develop, organize and deliver safety training
- Review, develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain safety (OSHA 300 logs) and environmental records
- Interaction with regulatory agencies
- Ability to travel to other Nucor locations
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
