Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Plant Manager for our Air Separation Unit (ASU) located at our Nucor Steel West Virginia ASU located in Apple Grove, WV.
Responsibilities
- Operational Support: Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the ASU, ensuring that production goals and safety standards are consistently met.
- Maintenance and Equipment Oversight: Monitor the maintenance and troubleshooting of critical plant systems, including cryogenic equipment, compressors, pumps, and electrical systems.
- Quality Control: Ensure all production processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements by implementing and monitoring quality control procedures.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure that the plant operates in compliance with all safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and industry standards.
- Team Leadership and Training: Supervise, train, and mentor plant operators and other staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED. Technical degree is preferred.
- ~5-7 years of experience in an operations, technical, or management role within a continuous process plant, or relevant military experience. Industrial gas industry experience preferred.
- Advanced understanding and hands-on experience with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cryogenic air separation plants, including associated equipment and technologies.
- Strong knowledge of electrical principles applied to the operation and repair of complex electrical systems commonly found in air separation plants.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
