Purpose:
Assist project team in the coordination of detailed projects including proper recordkeeping, on-time delivery of materials, and change order management. Cultivate a positive customer service environment.
Responsibilities:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Perform as the primary contact for assigned customers and manage projects through the lifecycle, while exemplifying courteous and professional business etiquette.
- Coordinate project requirements with contractors and detailers to ensure the submittal of drawings and the delivery of all contracted material meets the customer’s schedule.
- Responsible for order management (verifying scope, price, schedule), change order management, and communication with both external and internal customers. As part of this process, constant communication with involved parties will be required.
- Deliver world-class customer service and demonstrate an outgoing and personable approach to building relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Assist other project coordinators in processing orders to ensure timely order management occurs on every project, especially during peak sales periods.
- Communicate project status updates in weekly schedule and other division meetings.
- Understand Nucor Rebar Fabrication’s standard contract management procedures. Maintain contract files, monitor lump sums for over-runs, and complete final invoicing.
- Track change orders through the business system. Develop a working knowledge of the CRSI Manual of Standard Practice, reinforced concrete construction, and other industry practices.
- Develop a working knowledge of detailing and fabrication practices.
- Proactively assist in the development of additional tools, standards, processes, etc., which will help to increase individual and overall department productivity and accuracy.
Minimum Requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferences:
- Two-year degree from an accredited school or college. Construction or Engineering degree would be a plus.
- Auto CAD, and/or basic knowledge of reinforcing bar detailing.
- Prior metal building experience in the areas of detailing, design, estimating, project coordination, quality control or production.
- Three years of project coordination experience or high-level administrative experience.
