Basic Job Functions:
The Multi-Craft maintenance Technician will provide electrical and mechanical maintenance support for shredder, shear, and baler operations. Perform preventative maintenance and make repairs as needed to ensure continuous production. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in at least two maintenance trades.
- Must be available to work either shifts and/or nights.

- Mechanical Knowledge - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses or repairs and/or maintenance.
- Maintenance Systems & Techniques - Knowledge of servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts and equipment.
- Problem Solving - Identifying problems and analyzing or reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work - Developing specific goals and plans for prioritizing, organizing, and accomplishing individual work and/or the work of the team.
- Teamwork - Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.
- Initiative - Being proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.
- Environmental - Promotes environmental stewardship while maintaining compliance in all areas of the site through conformance with Nucor's environmental program. This includes reviewing and implementing environmental technical standards and policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-4 year degree in electrical, mechanical, welding or other maintenance trade.
- Mobile equipment maintenance experience.
Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
