Basic Job Functions
The Finishing Lead Person will assist the Supervisor and the crew in all areas of the day to day operation of the crew. They will take a leadership position at all times in the areas concerning Safety, Quality, Yield, Housekeeping, and Productivity. The Lead Person will be expected to have or gain a working knowledge of every position on the crew, including the Supervisor role. This position will work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements
3-year previous Finishing experience

Leadership Presence and Courage: Willingness and confidence to have immediate and direct conversations on critical alignment issues such as teamwork, building relationships, initiating and supporting change, and production process issues that arise. This includes the willingness to face adversity and conflict head on.
Teamwork: Working as part of a coordinated effort with others to achieve a common goal.
Accountability: Displays responsibility and reliability with work habits and has ability to hold others accountable for desired results.
Initiative: Proactively seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges.

Strong written and verbal communication, able to clearly convey messages
