Basic Job Functions

NTP is seeking a strong leader and self-motivated Engineer. The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties related to engineering and maintenance in an industrial setting. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are aligned with our business goals and company’s mission. We are looking for a creative and dedicated individual who will fit into Nucor’s culture. The job requires some overtime hours and travel. The Maintenance Engineer position is an integral member of the operations team. This individual will be responsible in leading the efforts to continually improve our safety, quality, cost, reliability, productivity, profitability, and team member development of our division.

• Meet with internal clients to achieve project goals, expectations and clarify specific requirements of each project.
• Evaluate data and lead efforts to determine root cause of failures and develop actions to improve overall maintenance reliability.
• Clearly communicate project tasks, scopes and duration to teammates involved.
• Track project effectiveness with defined short- and long-term goals.
• Meet budgetary objectives.
• Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with team members and the managers.
  
  

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferably in Mechanical, Metallurgic, Industrial Engineering).
• Knowledge of engineering computer software programs.
• Experience with process improvement.
• Advanced time management and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Galvanizing experience.
• 2 – 5 years of professional experience.
• Demonstrated computer skill with AutoCAD and SolidWorks (equivalent).
