This position provides the successful candidate an opportunity to become a key team player offering technical expertise supporting Nucor’s business system development and implementation.

Software Developer Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deliver code that meets defined requirements.
- Support and document existing and future development.
- Execute assigned project tasks within schedule.
- Provide timely and effective user support.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Work with project leads in developing and executing project plans.
- Deliver business values to the Nucor team by developing and coding solutions in existing MES systems.
- Develop MES interfaces with other systems – Level 2 and existing business systems.
- Develop MES report solutions – Business Objects, Crystal Report, Power BI, APEX.
- Observe user feedback to recommend solution improvements.
- Develop and update technical design documents.
- Research and evaluate relevant technologies and solutions.
- Develop and update technical design documents
- Assist with deployment of enterprise software applications to local division teammates.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or related fields, or 3-5 years of experience in PL/SQL and at least one of the popular programming languages (.NET, Python)
- Excellent understanding of general software application development principles and practices.
- Strong ability to produce readable, maintainable, and shippable code.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with the development MES & ERP Business systems.
- Experience with PL/SQL, REST Web Services, ASP.NET, C#, Python
- Experience with version control tools – Subversion, Git
- Experience with ADO – or other work management tools
- Familiar with Agile methodology
- Experience in data transformation tools - Informatica
