Basic Job Functions:
The Straightener Operator is responsible for all aspects of product straightening. This includes equipment set-up, basic maintenance for minor repairs or assisting maintenance as needed, making adjustments to equipment, data entry for tracking, safely following and updating procedures, and being able to produce a quality product at a high production rate. The Straightener Operator must work in extreme temperature environments, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
Successful cross training on Rotary Straightener and 1 year experience of operation in straightening wide flange and HP products.
Two year experience in a fast pace production environment.
