JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced Storage Administrator to join our team, responsible for the administration of storage, virtualization, and backup services. This position requires regular visits to the Central Office, with the flexibility of a hybrid work environment. Immediate response to hardware issues at our Alexandria, VA and Sterling, VA sites is critical, ensuring that hardware malfunctions are addressed promptly to minimize downtime and maintain business continuity. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with VMWare version 7, Dell EMC SAN, Nimble SAN, and Commvault backup systems. Familiarity with Jetstream is a plus.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Provide immediate on-site support for hardware issues at the Alexandria, VA and Sterling, VA sites, ensuring quick resolutions to minimize system downtime.
• Manage and administer Dell EMC and Nimble Storage Area Networks (SAN), ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
• Provide virtualization support using VMWare version 7 and assist with backups and Disaster Recovery (DR) operations.
• Provision and manage iSCSI and Fibre Channel storage utilizing various types of storage (flash, block, Cloud, NAS, and object storage).
• Plan, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise backup storage solutions, leveraging Commvault and other related technologies.
• Perform regular storage maintenance, including firmware upgrades, version updates, and rack mounting/configuration of storage systems in a development and staging environment.
• Utilize thin/thick provisioning concepts, storage protocols, and migration techniques to optimize storage solutions.
• Deliver high-quality technical support, responding to complex system problems, and working closely with teams to execute technology-related tasks and initiatives.
• Conduct research on emerging storage technologies and provide reports on their potential impact and value to the organization.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with the design, installation, administration, and maintenance of Windows-based systems.
• At least 5 years of experience working with storage vendors such as NetApp, EMC, and Nimble.
• 2 years of experience with backup applications such as Commvault, NetBackup, or Tivoli.
• Strong experience with VMWare version 7, storage provisioning for VMware or file systems, and managing enterprise storage solutions.
• Knowledge of storage protocols, thin/thick provisioning, and supporting Web Applications, Client/Server applications, and deployment scripting.
• Ability to troubleshoot and identify hardware malfunctions, administer firmware and version upgrades, and work on deploying applications to software-defined networks and data centers.
• Willingness and ability to respond quickly to on-site issues at the Alexandria, VA and Sterling, VA locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Jetstream.
• Ability to provide technical support on existing and emerging technologies.
• Experience in planning and executing technology projects.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of iSCSI and Fibre Channel storage, as well as object storage.
• Expertise in Commvault backup services.
• Familiarity with OSI networking model (Layer 1 through 4) for storage support.
• Proven ability to manage, provision, and troubleshoot enterprise storage systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $122,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
