About the Position
We are seeking a mid-career Environmental Engineer to lead our Air, Waste, and Water Department. In this role, you will oversee a team of engineers managing client compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and will provide evaluations, remediation recommendations, and technical expertise. Key responsibilities include :
- Preparing air permit applications and compliance reports, including the use of the US EPA’s electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool (e-GGRT).
- Evaluating facility emissions for compliance with Area Source, State Facility, and Title V classifications and generating Annual Emission Statements.
- Performing air dispersion modeling using US EPA-approved programs, such as AERMOD.
- Overseeing facility environmental regulatory audits (e.g., boiler efficiency testing, cooling tower compliance, stack testing) and emissions performance testing (e.g., US EPA visual opacity [Method 9] testing).
- Preparing NOx monitoring and compliance plans, recommending equipment or plant modifications to meet state and federal regulations.
- Certifying that installations of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) conform to EPA’s performance specifications, or developing alternative continuous monitoring systems, such as Predictive Emissions Monitoring Systems (PEMS).
- Assisting with Environmental Justice Policy (EJP) and Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) compliance requirements.
- Managing stormwater discharge monitoring and hazardous waste disposal reports.
- Liaising with subcontractors to relay requirements, ensure quality work, escalate issues, and enable timely project completion.
- Conducting research projects, writing documentation, and preparing responses to requests for quotation (RFQ) and requests for proposal (RFP).
Qualifications
Candidate must hold a degree in environmental, chemical, or mechanical engineering, or a related engineering field and be able to provide their own transportation to / from the office and project locations (mileage to / from project locations will be reimbursed at prevailing IRS rates).

Annual salary range : $65,000 to $85,000
