In this position, you’ll take on a broad spectrum of responsibilities that go beyond traditional HR practices, including supporting innovative approaches to recruitment, seamless onboarding experiences, proactive employee relations, and forward-thinking performance management.
As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate closely with leaders to deliver cutting-edge training programs and ensure HR compliance that aligns with the evolving needs of our workforce. Your role as a culture architect will empower you to resolve conflicts, provide strategic insights, and champion initiatives that foster inclusion, engagement, and a thriving workplace.

Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Development
- Serve as a key resource for leaders and employees, offering expert guidance on complex employee relations issues, investigations, and workplace challenges.
- Conduct fair and thorough investigations into workplace concerns, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws.
- Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts, coaching managers on best practices to foster a positive, high-performing culture.
- Provide proactive employee relations support by identifying trends and recommending strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Develop and facilitate mentorship programs, skill-building workshops, and leadership pathways that support long-term career development.
- Assess and enhance employee engagement through structured feedback mechanisms, pulse surveys, and action-oriented strategies.
- Equip leaders with the tools, training, and coaching they need to lead high-performing, resilient teams.
- Foster a culture of continuous feedback and professional development, ensuring employees receive meaningful guidance and recognition.
Performance & Change Management
- Lead organizational change initiatives, ensuring employees feel supported and informed throughout transitions.
- Partner with leadership to drive a culture of adaptability and innovation, ensuring HR strategies align with evolving business needs.
- Implement and advocate for workplace programs that promote work-life balance, mental health, and employee well-being.
- Develop creative employee recognition programs that celebrate contributions and reinforce company values.
Strategic HR & Compliance
- Stay current with labor laws and industry trends, providing proactive guidance to leadership on best practices and regulatory updates.
- Partner with compliance & finance teams to develop policies and training that foster a culture of accountability and integrity.
- Conduct regular audits on HR processes, employee relations cases, and workforce trends to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
- Leverage HR technology and automation to streamline reporting, improve efficiency, and enhance the employee experience.
- Lead cross-functional HR projects that align people strategies with business objectives, driving measurable impact.
Additional Contributions
- Launch initiatives that position the company as a leader in workplace innovation and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned by company leadership.
Attributes We Seek:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) are a plus.
- Candidates with 7 years of progressive HR experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- A passion for Human Resources: Expertise in employee relations, performance management, and organizational change initiatives
- 3 years of HR experience, including 2 years in a business partner or strategic HR role.
- Self-motivation & discipline: Handling confidential information with discretion, especially in regulated environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Sense of urgency and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Pivotal Abilities & Expertise: Collaborative leadership style with strong interpersonal consultative skills.
- Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) to effectively interact with employees, peers, and leadership.
- Thorough understanding of organizational structures, job hierarchies, and HR practices, including compensation and administration.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% is required.
- Must be able to successfully pass the State of Illinois required background check.
