JOB SUMMARY:
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing product shipments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.
- Performs systemic updates for all receiving activities to include handling of paperwork and accuracy of process. Must work towards achieving a strong working knowledge of the entire process from a systemic and operational perspective.
- Performs systemic transactions to account for all movement of products within the department from a locational perspective accounting for proper storage locations or inventory balances to account for usage and on hand records. Gain a strong working knowledge understanding product transfers within our systems.
- Requires use of a forklift and manual/electric pallet jacks.
- Loading/unloading delivery trucks, check incoming shipments against product invoices.
- Perform Label checks verifying ingredients and nutritional statements.
- Count, weigh, measure, or examine packaging and contents of items for conformance to company specifications.
- Has a thorough understanding of the Companies Recall Process.
- Maintain accurate record keeping relating to product lot codes/dates and their subsequent movements throughout the department and company.
- As directed, creates necessary paperwork packets and performs necessary inventory transactions to support the assembly build process for the department. Assist in the process of determining needs and requirements planning functions for necessary supplies and/or materials.
- Perform all warehouse functions related to pick, pack, ship, assembly, and replenishment functions.
- Replenish inventory which includes the transfer of inventory in a timely manner to assist with maintaining the flow of the pick, pack, ship operation.
- Participate in the mandatory Environmental Cleaning.
- Maintain predetermined level of excess cardboard in the outside storage area and make necessary calls for pickups.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school (High school diploma) diploma or general education degree (GED (High school diploma) and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills- ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability- ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Applications, specifically Excel, Word & Outlook. Work experience in an integrated systemic operating environment is desired.
- Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack – to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of operating a Forklift and electric pallet jack. On the job training is provided, however, experience is desired.
- Ability to work in diverse temperature environments including coolers and freezers.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment during peak seasons and work efficiently in confined spaces.
