**Job Description: 3rd/4th Grade Teacher Assistant (English Side) - 50/50 Dual Language Immersion Charter School**
**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated and supportive 3rd Grade Teacher Assistant to join our team at a 50/50 Dual Language Immersion Charter School. In this role, you will assist the English-side teacher in delivering engaging lessons, supporting students in their language development, and ensuring a positive learning environment. As part of our dual language program, you will help students develop both their academic skills and bilingual abilities, ensuring their success in an immersive educational experience.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Support the classroom teacher in implementing the 3rd grade curriculum, specifically in English language arts (ELA) and other core subjects.
- Assist with lesson preparation, materials, and classroom setup to ensure a smooth learning experience for all students.
- Provide small group or one-on-one support to students who need additional help with assignments, language development, or understanding the material.
- Monitor and manage student behavior, ensuring a respectful and productive classroom environment.
- Help maintain classroom organization and manage instructional resources.
- Assist in conducting assessments and track student progress, providing feedback to the teacher as needed.
- Collaborate with the teacher and other staff members to ensure the integration of English and Spanish language learning.
- Support students’ social and emotional development, encouraging positive interactions and classroom behavior.
- Communicate regularly with the teacher regarding student needs, progress, and concerns.
- Help supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other school activities as needed.
- Participate in professional development sessions, team meetings, and school events to contribute to the school’s goals and growth.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, especially in a dual language or bilingual setting, is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
- Patience, flexibility, and a passion for helping students succeed academically and socially.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs in a diverse classroom.
