JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Barback at The Elmont plays a crucial role in supporting the bar team by ensuring the bar is stocked, clean, and organized throughout the shift. The Barback works closely with bartenders to maintain a smooth and efficient operation, helping to create a great guest experience by keeping the bar area fully prepared and operational.
REPORTS TO: Bar Manager
LOCATION: The Elmont
Pay: Hourly plus tips
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up all bar areas properly for opening, ensuring all necessary supplies, tools, and equipment are in place for service.
- Maintain the bar area in a clean, orderly, and well-organized manner, both during and after the shift.
- Assist bartenders by restocking supplies, handling routine tasks, and providing support during peak service times.
- Replenish ice, garnishes, and beverages as needed to keep the bar running smoothly.
- Clean and polish glassware as required to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are met.
- Sweep and mop behind all bar areas at the end of each shift to ensure the bar space remains sanitary and well-maintained.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested by management to support the bar operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience as a Barback or in a similar position is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong communication and team-oriented skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Must be flexible and available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is typically performed in the resort. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work involves a majority of standing, bending, stooping, twisting, climbing and some lifting up to 50 lbs.
