JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Server at Evaga Restaurant is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to all guests, taking food and drink orders, and ensuring a positive dining experience. The server is attentive, knowledgeable, and works efficiently to meet the needs of the guests while adhering to the restaurant’s standards of service and cleanliness.
REPORTS TO: General Manager/ Restaurant Manager
LOCATION: The Elmont
Pay: Hourly plus tips
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take food and drink orders, ensuring accuracy and clarity of customer preferences.
- Deliver food and beverages to customers in a timely manner.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, including food ingredients and preparation methods, to answer any questions from guests.
- Monitor the needs of guests throughout their dining experience, ensuring satisfaction and offering additional items or services as appropriate.
- Perform opening and closing side work, including restocking, cleaning, and organizing the dining area and service stations.
- Handle guest payments accurately, including cash and credit card transactions.
- Follow all cleanliness and safety standards for the dining room, wait stations, and kitchen areas.
- Attend pre-meal meetings and training sessions to stay informed on restaurant policies and menu updates.
- Present a clean, professional appearance at all times, adhering to grooming and uniform standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to maintain an efficient and positive dining environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Food Handler Certification and TABC Certification are required
- Previous bartending or customer service experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and energetic attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with customers.
- Must be at least 18 years old (or meet local legal requirements for service positions).
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays and events.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is typically performed in the resort. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work involves a majority of standing, bending, stooping, twisting, climbing and some lifting up to 50 lbs.
