Finance Director

About the Role

We are seeking a Finance Director to lead the fundraising and development efforts for our campaign. This senior-level position will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to ensure the financial strength of the campaign. The Finance Director will oversee donor prospecting, call time management, fundraising events, online and grassroots fundraising, and compliance. This role requires a strong relationship-builder with experience in political fundraising and a proven ability to develop and implement successful finance plans.

Key ResponsibilitiesFundraising Strategy & Execution

• Develop and implement a multi-faceted fundraising plan that incorporates call time, events, digital outreach, and donor cultivation.
• Identify and cultivate major donors, PACs, labor unions, and business groups to secure high-dollar contributions.
• Oversee small-dollar and recurring donor programs to build grassroots financial support.
• Manage candidate and key stakeholder call time, ensuring strong donor engagement and contribution follow-ups.
• Work with the Digital Director to drive online fundraising through email, social media, and digital ads.

Donor Relations & Events

• Plan and execute large-scale fundraising events, mid-level regional events, and donor house parties.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, and party leaders.
• Establish and administer a Finance Committee composed of high-dollar donors and campaign stakeholders.
• Conduct donor research, maintain accurate donor records, and develop personalized solicitation strategies.

Compliance & Financial Management

• Ensure proper tracking, solicitation, and reporting of campaign contributions and expenditures.
• Maintain programmatic budgets, track income, and adjust fundraising goals as needed.
• Ensure all fundraising activities comply with state and federal campaign finance laws.

Leadership & Organizational Development

• Hire, train, and manage interns and volunteers involved in fundraising operations.
• Provide fundraising guidance to candidates, elected officials, and local campaign teams.
• Foster a campaign-wide culture of fundraising, engaging all staff and volunteers in donor outreach efforts.

Qualifications

• At least 2-cycles of experience in political fundraising, campaign finance, or nonprofit development.
• Proven ability to develop and execute high-dollar and grassroots fundraising strategies.
• Strong understanding of campaign finance laws and compliance.
• Experience managing call time, donor outreach, and fundraising events.
• Proficiency in NGP/VAN, ActBlue, and digital fundraising platforms.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced campaign environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $7,000-$9,000/month, depending on experience.
• Health Insurance Stipend Provided.
• Term: Full-time position through at least June 2026.
