The Role
Our Food Service Account Manager should be excited to roll up their sleeves, work with the team, distributor reps and customers daily, and drive our mission forward with a strong sense of urgency. Regular travel locally in the San Antonio area & occasionally in other parts of Texas will be part of this role. We value dedication to excellence, and we need a no nonsense, high performing, experienced food service sales manager ready to take this business to the next level.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop/maintain relationships with food service customers and distributor reps
- Become an expert in our product portfolio and assist with item expansion to grow overall business.
- With the Chief Customer Officer, create a regional food service sales strategy for existing and prospective customers.
- Present and sell products to current and potential clients, identify customer needs, and craft solutions to successfully meet them.
- Identify, develop, and refine account profiles for key customers within the assigned territory.
- Create product presentations & selling strategies tailored to the food service industry.
- Hire and manage a sales broker team in assigned territory and provide support as needed.
- Develop/maintain relationships with distributor reps, conduct distributor trainings and ride-along to support product sales.
- Monitor opportunities and complete the bid process for foodservice accounts.
- Manage an individual expense account within budget guidelines.
- Identify new sales leads, pitch products, and maintain fruitful relationships with existing customers and research potential new markets.
- Alongside Chief Customer Officer, develop & execute an 18-month sales strategy to grow existing accounts; provide monthly updates on the status.
- Contact potential customers via email or phone to establish rapport, set up meetings and conduct tastings & and manage contracts.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with customers and leads and inform them about new developments in the company's products.
- Organize and attend distributor tradeshows, regional meetings, and industry events to build relationships with existing and potential customers.
- Manage sample requests & customer inquiries for all food service accounts.
- Coordinate with the Manufacturing & Logistics team to fill orders and manage customer accounts.
- Serve as main point of contact with all food service accounts
- Provide feedback to Chief Customer Officer on customer needs for future R&D efforts.
- Maintain effective, professional relationships with customers, vendors, and fellow employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - Candidates should have all of the following credentials:
- 4 years of Foodservice National or Corporate Accounts sales experience preferred.
- Strong customer knowledge and relationships across the Foodservice segment
- Experience driving value added sales through solution selling processes
- Experience managing a portfolio of products ranging from basic staple commodities to specialty and value-added products
- IT fluency with skills including GSuite, Microsoft Office suite, Canva.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - written and verbal. Confident and effective public speaking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Flexible and willing to take on any tasks to support team efforts.
- Friendly, professional, and courteous, placing a strong value on relationships.
- The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent time management and organization.
- Work requires travel (up to 50 percent) to current and potential clients. This requires the possession of a valid state driver's license and a personal vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed).
- Maintain a current food handler's permit and apply food safety knowledge as necessary.
Pay: Salary is commensurate with experience- Starts at $80,000
