Based in Alsip, IL, Nufarm is looking for a Supply Chain - Strategic Network Manager who will be responsible for the tactical and strategic improvement of the logistic network to reduce our logistics expenses and still providing the service level required by our customers within the Nufarm North American Region (US & Canada). The Logistics Network – Material Flow Manager works with commercial / sales and marketing teams developing and implementing freight business, service level agreements to support Nufarm customer segmentation strategies at the same time measuring and optimizing our cost to serve position. He / she also partners with the Distribution Requirement Planning team to properly do the inventory replenishment in an optimized network of warehouses with the minimum freight segments to deliver our products.
What will you be doing?
- Propose and implement the best logistics network design to support our growth aspirations and to meet our customer’s needs.
- Implement and manage cost to serve process to support business / commercial decisions regarding what product / customer to supply to maximize the region profitability and support our growth aspirations.
- Design, implement and measure the performance of the proper yard management process to have an efficient material flow in our production facilities.
- Support transfer to manufacturing decisions related to make vs buy options in the view of logistics.
- Work with commercial / sales and marketing teams developing and implementing freight business, service level agreements to support Nufarm customer segmentation strategies at the same time measuring and optimizing our cost to serve position.
- Partner with the Distribution Requirement Planning to properly do the inventory replenishment in an optimized network of warehouses with the minimum freight segments to deliver our products.
- Responsibility for driving KPI adherence against all cost to service, % logistics expenses per total sales,
- Create and implement the standard operating procedures to sustain improvements achieved by the improvement activities.
- Utilise and extract relevant data from our systems, such as WMS / ERP / EDI
- Partner with planning, manufacturing, procurement, commercial, sales and marketing to set commercial policies, measure adherence and recommend improvement actions to improve our cost to serve performance.
- Measure, improve and make recommendation to material flow and yard management operations regarding bulk trucks, totes, rail and packaging of materials and finished goods.
- Cost savings through sustainable continuous improvement & regional projects focused on savings.
- Provide analysis, insight, and predictive measures regarding efficient operation in our logistic network.
- Material flow ownership through define KPI’s.
- Other duties are performed under the guidance and direction of the HSE Director, North America.
What do you bring?
You hold a bachelor’s degree in business or operations management with a safety comes first mindset. Additionally, you have deep expertise in inventory management and control principles. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of optimizing supply chain operations regarding logistics network, yard management operations, transportation, freight, supply planning, and / or customer service along with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with external suppliers.
What do we offer?
Our compensation structure is designed to reflect the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 per year in our lowest geographic market to $140,000 per year in our highest geographic market. Compensation is determined by several factors, including market location, and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
