What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet/Catering Food Server On Call Varied Shifts position at Nugget Casino Resort?
FUNCTION:
Deliver food and carry service trays while demonstrating exemplary guest service skills. This position requires individuals with the ability to be service-minded and committed to providing outstanding guest satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide exemplary guest service during Banquets and special functions.
- Prepare sections and side stations, i.e., make sure tables are cleaned and set properly.
- Coordinate drink orders with bartenders to process drink orders correctly and in a timely manner.
- Monitor tables closely and be attentive to guests needs.
- Clear empty plates and glasses from tables and carry to bus carts.
- May be required to carry service tray to deliver and serve food and beverages to table.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to collect orders efficiently, ensuring that guests orders with dietary needs are met.
- Ability to remain on your feet in a fast-paced environment for long periods of time, lifting, reaching, bending, and carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Complete all bussing attendant duties when required.
- Maintain positive attitude in high stress situations.
- Go the extra mile and follow through to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Must be able to work with diverse populations in a supportive and positive manner.
- Ability to diplomatically handle guest complaints.
- May be required to train others, educating on menu items and other aspects of the role.
- Prepare banquet facilities by setting up and breaking down chairs, tables, buffets, center pieces.
- Required to set up chinaware, silverware, glassware, and place settings according to guests’ specifications and the event.
- Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule.
- Using the Nugget’s system of recognition, recognize team members who are going “above and beyond.”
- Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager.
- Always maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same.
- Regular predictable attendance is required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Banquet Captain
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
EDUCATION LEVEL:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
LANGUAGE:
Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 1 year of serving experience in a Banquets, Catering, or fine dining environment.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Alcohol Awareness Certification is required.
PHSYICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for long periods of time.
Ability to lift, and move product up to 50 lbs.
Fine finger manipulation.
Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels.
Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.
