The Role
The Security Engineer role serves as a technical engineer within one of the NuHarbor Managed Services Pods. The Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring Managed Services client environments are maintained and developed according to NuHarbor standards and in alignment with both client and NuHarbor expectations.

The Role
The Security Engineer role serves as a technical engineer within one of the NuHarbor Managed Services Pods. The Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring Managed Services client environments are maintained and developed according to NuHarbor standards and in alignment with both client and NuHarbor expectations.
What you'll do
- Lives by the NuHarbor corporate values: Protect the House, Help Clients Win, Always Improve.
- Performs engineering tasks required to sustain existing Managed Services clients.
- Performs engineering tasks to support the onboarding of new Managed Services clients.
- Performs and analyzes daily health checks on existing Managed Services clients.
- Develops content in support of Manages Services clients.
- Performs troubleshooting of client environments.
- Document and create content to further build upon NuHarbor's internal knowledgebase.
- Regularly meet with clients to drive forward engineering objectives.
- Maintains industry and vendor certifications required to support the Managed Services catalog.
- Required to participate in 24x7 rotation.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Engineering Leadership
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Typical Degrees: Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or related field(s).
- In lieu of a degree, two (2) years of experience in a related technology field and relevant industry certifications are required.
- One (1) or more years in the Information Technology field.
- Strong Linux and Windows proficiency.
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot issues with Windows and Linux systems.
- Ability to interact and manage the Linux system via CLI.
- Strong understanding of basic security concepts and controls and how they relate to IT networks.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts.
- Ability to troubleshoot interconnected systems.
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Experience with Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Enterprise Security, and/or Splunk Cloud.
- Experience with Tenable One.
- Experience with CrowdStrike.
- Experience with Microsoft Sentinel.
- Demonstrated proactive approach to cybersecurity and customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to make complex subjects understandable.
- Demonstrated interpersonal savvy.
- Demonstrated ability to be successful and perform well in all aspects of your operational and strategic work.
- The flexibility to work over several projects and balance your workload.
- Demonstrated time management skills.
