The Role

The Threat Analyst role serves as a mid-level technical threat analyst within Cyber Threat Operations. The threat analyst is responsible for researching threat trends, maintaining NuHarbor Security's threat intelligence platform, performing threat hunting in client environments, and delivery of threat briefings to NuHarbor Managed Services clients. In addition, the threat analyst is also responsible for development of additional threat services, as well as the technical advisory of fellow junior threat analysts.

• Is responsible for ensuring that they operate effectively, professionally, in a timely manner and in the best interest of NuHarbor Security and our clients.
• Performs intelligence gathering and analysis to influence technical control development, client security program maturity, and client attack surface defense.
• Researches and remains up to date on global threat trends, vertical specific threat trends, new exploits, relevant vulnerabilities, and new zero-days.
• Maintains the NuHarbor Security threat intelligence platform.
• Performs threat hunting in client Splunk environments.
• Identifies opportunities for improvements in efficiency, quality, maturity, and capabilities.
• Is accountable for fostering an open forum among the analyst team to ensure that team members collaborate or seek help on technical issues that prevent work from being completed.
• Takes on additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the security operations center (SOC) management team.
• Assists with providing input to the SOC management team on analyst performance, training opportunities, or personnel issues identified during daily operation.
• Assists with drafting client facing threat intelligence reports.

Your foundation. The requirements for this role:

• Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of experience. Experience should be in a cybersecurity field and should include relevant industry certifications.
  • In lieu of a degree, two (2) years of experience in a related technology field and relevant industry certifications are required.
• Two (2) or more years of experience in a threat analyst role.
• One (1) year of experience with OSINT and threat hunting.
• One (1) year of experience using Splunk and or other SIEM technologies.
• Knowledgeable of security concepts and frameworks.

• Experience with the Threat Intelligence tool, OpenCTI, to collect information about adversary groups and cybercriminals that may target the NuHarbor Security client base.
• Ability to communicate with different clients clearly and consistent with NuHarbor Security process.
  • Experience giving security recommendations and leading meetings with clients.
• Demonstrated understands networking concepts and architecture.
• Experience giving security recommendations and meeting with clients.
• Relevant industry certification(s) (Security , Network , CeH, CYSA )
• Must be a citizen of the United States.

Additional capabilities that will differentiate you for this role:

• Experience performing threat hunting across client account via Splunk.
• Experience using Threat Intelligence tools and processes necessary to collect information about adversary groups and cybercriminals that may target the NuHarbor Security client base.
