The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring that machining processes meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards. This role involves leading a team of machinists and operators, coordinating production schedules, and maintaining equipment to support the timely delivery of precision-manufactured components. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise in machining, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Supervision: Lead, train, and motivate a team of machinists, CNC operators, and support staff to achieve production goals while fostering a positive and safe work environment.
Production Oversight: Monitor and manage machining operations (e.g., CNC milling, turning, grinding) to ensure adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and customer specifications.
Quality Control: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure machined parts meet tolerances, blueprints, and industry standards; address and resolve non-conformance issues.
Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for optimizing workflows, reducing waste, and improving efficiency using lean manufacturing principles or similar methodologies.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Inventory & Materials: Monitor raw material usage, work-in-progress inventory, and finished goods to support production needs and minimize delays.
Reporting: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, scrap rates, and labor efficiency; provide updates to management as needed.
Scheduling: Assign tasks, manage shift schedules, and adjust staffing as necessary to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a machining or manufacturing environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Certifications: Lean Six Sigma, OSHA safety training, or similar certifications are a plus.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams effectively.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address production challenges quickly.
Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of machining tools, materials (e.g., metals, alloys), and processes.
Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
