We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Manager to lead the development and execution of our product strategy for a specific line of mining equipment (e.g., haul trucks, excavators, drilling equipment, etc.). This role will be crucial in shaping the future of our equipment offerings, ensuring they meet the demanding needs of our mining customers and drive significant business growth. You will be the voice of the customer, deeply understanding their operational challenges and translating those insights into cutting-edge equipment solutions.
Responsibilities :
- Strategy & Vision : Define and champion the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for your assigned mining equipment product line, aligning with overall company objectives. This includes market analysis, competitive assessment, and identifying key opportunities for growth and innovation within the mining equipment sector.
- Customer Focus : Conduct extensive customer research, including interviews, site visits to mining operations, and collaboration with sales and service teams, to deeply understand customer needs, pain points, operational workflows, and equipment performance requirements. Build strong relationships with key customers and industry influencers.
- Product Development Lifecycle : Manage the entire product lifecycle from ideation and concept development through requirements gathering, design, engineering, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, launch, and post-launch analysis. Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and other cross-functional teams.
- Prioritization & Execution : Prioritize product features and releases based on customer value, business impact, technical feasibility, and alignment with manufacturing capabilities. Develop detailed product requirements documents (PRDs), technical specifications, and user stories. Manage the product backlog and ensure timely execution of the product roadmap.
- Market Analysis : Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitive landscape, emerging technologies (e.g., automation, electrification, digitalization), and regulatory changes within the mining equipment sector. Identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation, considering factors like performance, reliability, safety, and sustainability.
- Go-to-Market Strategy : Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop effective go-to-market strategies, including product positioning, messaging, pricing, sales enablement materials, and launch plans.
- Performance Measurement : Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, including market share, customer satisfaction, equipment uptime, and total cost of ownership. Analyze product performance data and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
- Collaboration & Communication : Effectively communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, engineering teams, manufacturing teams, sales teams, and customers. Build strong relationships and foster a collaborative environment.
- Travel : Significant travel to customer sites (mining operations), manufacturing facilities, and industry events will be required.
