Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including geriatrics, outpatient clinics, and trauma centers. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by offering personalized care and companionship.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor and report changes in clients’ health status to healthcare professionals.
- Help with mobility assistance, including transferring clients from bed to wheelchair or assisting with walking.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Support clients with medication reminders and adherence to prescribed health regimens.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records of client progress and needs.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar caregiving role is preferred.
- Familiarity with geriatrics, inpatient care, emergency medicine, and outpatient services is advantageous.
- Experience working in various healthcare settings such as teaching hospitals or trauma centers (Level I or Level II) is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a healthcare team.
- A compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to help others are essential for success in this role.
