Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals by assisting with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. This position may involve working in diverse environments such as inpatient facilities, Level I and II Trauma Centers, teaching hospitals, clinics, and emergency medicine settings.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and report changes in patients’ conditions to nursing staff.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Support medical staff during procedures in various departments such as OR, PICU, and medical-surgical units.
- Participate in patient education and rehabilitation efforts under the guidance of healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the facility.
Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine practices is a plus.
- Experience working in high-acuity environments such as emergency medicine or trauma centers is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating empathy and patience towards patients.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
