Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and bathing.
- Help with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor client health.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Follow infection control protocols, especially in cases of infectious disease care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Stay informed about medical terminology relevant to client conditions.
Experience
- Previous experience in senior care or acute care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical records management and documentation practices.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures is essential.
- Experience using Cerner or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
- Understanding of pediatric care principles is beneficial for those working with younger clients.
- Ability to work effectively in a Level I Trauma Center environment is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work compassionately with diverse populations.
