Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role involves working closely with clients in personal care homes, nursing homes, or memory care facilities, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' well-being.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safe movement within the home or facility.
- Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Implement behavior management strategies as needed to support clients with specific challenges.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Document daily activities and any significant changes in clients’ conditions.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in personal care, senior care, or similar roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and dietary requirements for seniors.
- Familiarity with memory care practices and behavior management strategies is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various settings including home care and long-term care facilities.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions accurately.
