Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide mobility assistance, including transferring clients in and out of beds or chairs.
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects.
- Assist with the use of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) such as wheelchairs or walkers.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Document client progress and report any changes in condition to healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with family members and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care.
Skills
- Knowledge of anatomy and emergency medicine principles.
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or other special needs.
- Familiarity with assisted living environments and catheter care procedures.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as eClinicalWorks.
- Background in pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) or medical-surgical settings is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
