Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients by ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare settings such as clinics, hospitals, or trauma centers and possess skills in emergency medicine and patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help clients with mobility and transfers to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Monitor and report changes in clients’ health status to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Document care provided and maintain accurate records of client progress.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in various settings including medical-surgical units, Level I and II Trauma Centers, inpatient facilities, ORs, teaching hospitals, and PICUs as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role within emergency medicine or hospital settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic patient care practices is advantageous.
- Ability to perform tasks efficiently in high-pressure environments such as trauma centers or clinics.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends as required by client needs.
