What are the responsibilities and job description for the SVP Marketing and Analytics position at Numerica Credit Union?
With the goal of enhancing lives, fulfilling dreams and building communities, this position serves as a member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the Chief Administration Officer, providing strategic and executive decisions on the direction of the business unit in order to support the credit union initiatives.
This position is responsible for overseeing the Marketing and Organizational Data Management (Analytic) departments, driving data-informed digital and targeted marketing strategies to achieve key business objectives. A primary focus is member acquisition and engagement, alongside building brand equity and awareness, and driving sales, growth, and profitability. The position is responsible for collaborating across departments to develop integrated marketing campaigns, managing brand positioning, tracking key performance metrics, product development, increase digital engagement and media management while enhancing the member experience through innovative and creative initiatives. This leader will champion a culture of innovation and collaboration, fostering teams dedicated to exceeding member expectations and contributing to Numerica's continued growth.

Analyzes market conditions, competitive environment, regulatory challenges and develops marketing and analytic plans to mitigate and manage emerging risks as well as achieve corporate objectives.
- Develops benchmark criteria to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing and analytics initiatives, brand campaigns and digital journey mapping that creates a seamless experience to enhance member engagement
- Identifies, interprets and capitalizes on economic trends, buying habits and the demographic, psychographic and behavioral characteristics of consumers, their tastes and preferences for credit union products and those of competitors in order to capitalize on market expansion and diversification opportunities.
- Identifies, develops and drives long-term strategies and initiatives that will result in profitable growth. Partners with internal stakeholders regarding pricing and profitability and develops recommendations for Pricing Committee.
- Researches and recommends product and service enhancements and product development opportunities that will provide quality member service that meet the financial needs of members.. Presents detailed visual reports, data visualization, interpreting data and storytelling to executive leadership and board members in a clear and understandable way.
- Provides thoughtful leadership in developing new analytical tools, platforms roadmaps for organizational adoption, as well as, stays current with industry trends in digital engagement, media marketing, product development, campaign management and technology that elevates brand recognition.
- Develops strategic and trusting relationships with media, community partners, business leaders, and marketing, advertising, brand and analytics agencies and consultants.
- Directs the AVP of Marketing on priorities for department in the consistent brand delivery, media management, digital engagement and experience across all aspects of marketing.
- Directs VP of Analytics and Insights in the development and optimization of roadmap for investments and projects in order to deliver risk mitigation, growth and efficiencies to the organization.
- Directs the AVP of Marketing and VP of Analytics in execution of plans in order to meet the strategic goals of the organization while offering strong leadership, effective mentorship, and management to help team members and departments achieve their goals and desired outcomes in a positive environment of collaboration and flexibility.
- Prepares and monitors annual multi- million-dollar marketing and analytics budgets and ensures that all activities are performed in a cost effective manner. Delivers planned results within budget.
- Promotes service, teamwork, cross-functional cooperation and coordination between all credit union departments, specifically partnering with Communications, Community Engagement Marketing, Organizational Data Management and other functional areas within the credit union to meet annual goals.
- Supports executive leadership and organization as requested with brand and marketing guidance, communications and reporting.
- Participates in community involvement and events in order to promote the credit union and support our community.
- Maintains knowledge and adheres to all BSA regulations and compliance standards on internal and external policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for overall direction, monitoring and evaluation of the Marketing and Organizational Data Management unit teams through overall performance management while providing timely feedback, documentation and performance evaluations for each business unit manager. Plans, organizes and directs the work of VP’s and AVP’s in reporting line. Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employee performance; resolving complaints and problems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and compliance with applicable laws.

Responsible for overall quality of service delivery to internal and external members through teams. Creates a positive working relationship with all credit union department managers and team members. Ability to present ideas clearly using respectful language, tone and body language. Ability to work with others members of C-team, Senior Leadership Team, managers and employees as well as outside vendors in coordinating the overall marketing and analytic efforts.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, finance, analytics or related field of study with ten (10) plus years or equivalent experience with a strong knowledge and understanding of bank financials. Management and progressive leadership experience leading the marketing function, analytics, product development and media strategies.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Eight (8) plus years’ experience in Credit Union/Retail Banking experience with a thorough understanding of financial services, banking software, specifically electronic and digital channels and banking/analytics and marketing regulations. Five years of product management, data visualization, robust data and business intelligence, including data architecture, data platforms, reporting, data utilization tools and advanced decision support capabilities (AI, machine learning, predictive analytics). Master’s Degree is desirable.
