POSITION OVERVIEW
The Vice President of FI Credit Risk will primarily be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of the bank's global FI customers, including conducting financial analysis, assessing market conditions, and evaluating industry trends to make informed decisions that align with the organization's risk management policies. This role requires prior experience in assessing the counterparty credit risk of banks and other financial institutions, as well as familiarity with structured finance and asset backed lending.
In addition to direct credit risk responsibilities, the VP of FI Credit Risk will also be involved in structured / asset backed facilities, overseeing the bank’s credit risk portfolio and governance. This role will also support the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer in other stripes of Risk Management, including but not limited to Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, Payment Risk and Operational Risk.

Key Responsibilities
1. Credit Assessment and Analysis
- Analyze financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements) to assess the financial health of prospective borrowers.
- Conduct both qualitative and quantitative assessments of credit applications, including ratio analysis, trend analysis, projections, and scenario analysis.
- Evaluate the credit history of business customers and oversee the extension and management of settlement lines.
- Understand industry dynamics and geopolitical factors that impact Numisma Bank’s global customer base.
2. Decision Making
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and credit committees.
- Assist in the decision-making process for settlement facility, modifications, and renewals.
- Ensure all credit decisions comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
3. Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor the performance of existing counterparties and review credit limits regularly.
- Prepare regular portfolio performance reports, assess performance, and proactively identify and report early warning signs.
4. Industry and Market Analysis
- Stay informed about industry trends, exchange rate fluctuations, economic conditions, credit spreads, and regulatory changes that may impact credit risk.
- Conduct market research to support credit decisions and inform policy adjustments.
5. Customer Interaction
- Communicate with customers to gather necessary financial information and address credit-related inquiries.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to support ongoing credit assessments and services.
6. Documentation and Compliance
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all credit assessments and decisions.
- Maintain compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Keep the bank’s Credit Risk Policy and governance updated in line with industry standards and market realities.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
Certifications: CFA preferred.
Experience: 7-10 years of credit risk experience, particularly in the financial sector.
GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
Numisma Bank is headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut. Currently, the team works together on-site three days a week and remote two days a week.
