**Job Description:**
We are seeking compassionate and skilled Night Shift Caregivers to join our team in Oakdale. As a part-time caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by providing assistance with daily living activities and mobility support. If you have experience working with individuals requiring care, particularly utilizing Hoyer lifts and knowledge of range of motion exercises, we want to hear from you!
**Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:**
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, including skin, mouth, hair care, bathing, and dressing.
- Support clients in and out of bed, perform transfers, positioning, and assist with ambulation.
- Provide assistance with exercises tailored to meet each client's specific needs.
- Plan and prepare meals, assisting clients with eating as necessary.
- Help clients with bathroom needs, including using commodes, bedpans, or urinals, and provide incontinence care.
- Perform household services including light housekeeping, laundry, transportation, correspondence, and shopping for personal care items.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to foster connection and mental well-being.
- Assist clients with medications that are ordinarily self-administered and ensure proper adherence.
- Report changes in the client's condition and needs to the home care administrator.
- Complete records regarding services performed to maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in all required entry-level and ongoing training sessions.
- Maintain an active home care aide registration with the State of California Department of Social Services Home Care Services Bureau.
**Position Qualifications:**
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and disclosure of any criminal history or evidence of exemption.
- Evidence of entry-level training or a plan to complete training prior to client care in accordance with California regulations.
- Verification of tuberculosis testing and confirmation that the caregiver does not have active tuberculosis.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care provided accurately.
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
- Demonstrate empathy and compassion for the needs of the ill, injured, frail, and impaired.
- Display tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.
- Hold a valid driver’s license, maintain auto insurance, and have reliable transportation.
