Position: Patient Admitting Specialist
Location: Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, CA
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 13 weeks contract temp to perm
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Provide patients with a seamless registration experience and assist with healthcare decisions.
- Accurate Registrations: Maintain precise and comprehensive patient records.
- Insurance Verification: Record and verify insurance information, eligibility, and benefits.
- Point-of-Service Collections: Collect co-pays, deductibles, and financial responsibilities at or before service time.
- Compliance: Follow Code of Conduct and compliance policies, reporting any violations.
- Registration Accuracy: Utilize two patient identifiers, avoid duplicate medical records, and ensure compliance with benchmark guidelines.
- Daily Operations:
- Complete check-ins and verify e-check-in.
- Scan photo IDs and insurance cards.
- Prepare Medicare Advanced Beneficiary Notices (ABNs) and adhere to Medicare requirements.
- Collect and process payments, providing receipts.
- Communication: Handle incoming calls, messages, and faxes efficiently and professionally.
- Cash Balancing: Perform daily cash balancing as per department guidelines.
- Problem-Solving: Address patient complaints or concerns following the chain of command.
- Training: Successfully complete all required training and maintain compliance with standards.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in healthcare settings or customer service preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, payment processing, and hospital regulations is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in handling registrations, scheduling, and insurance processes.
- Familiarity with Medicare requirements and safety practices.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
