Overview:
As a Staffing Coordinator at Nurses Direct, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating communication between healthcare facilities and nurses, ensuring seamless shift coverage. Your responsibilities will include liaising with various healthcare facilities to secure and manage shift assignments, as well as coordinating with agency nurses to fill these shifts. Additionally, staffing coordinators must be available one weekend each month to handle calls, respond to emerging needs, and fill urgent shifts requested by facilities during the weekend.
Responsibilities:
Act as a primary point of contact between healthcare facilities and the agency to coordinate shift schedules and assignments.
Communicate proactively with healthcare facilities to understand their staffing needs and ensure timely placement of nurses.
Collaborate with the agency's pool of nurses, matching their skills, availability, and preferences with available shifts.
Maintain accurate shifts, assignments, and nurse availability records within the agency's scheduling system.
Handle emergency staffing situations by swiftly addressing last-minute shift cancellations or unexpected vacancies.
Provide excellent customer service to healthcare facilities and nurses, promptly and professionally addressing inquiries and concerns.
Conduct regular check-ins with nurses and healthcare facilities to ensure satisfaction and address any issues.
Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and availability, including overnight on-call responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Must have experience working in the medical field and be familiar with medical terminology. Experience working with an agency is preferred but not necessary.
Excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail to manage shifting priorities and schedules.
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
Proficiency in using scheduling software and other relevant tools.
Willingness to be on-call overnight as needed and work flexible hours based on agency requirements.
