Position Title: ICU Float Registered Nurse
Job Duties:
The ICU Float Registered Nurse position offers exposure to a variety of ICU specialties, including MICU, SICU, Respiratory Special Care, and Surgical Progressive Care. The role requires strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills, with an ability to remain current on the latest practices and knowledge in critical care. The RN will be assigned to the intensive care units with the greatest staffing needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Hold an active RN License in New York (NY License ONLY)
- At least 2 years of ICU acute care experience
- Demonstrate the ability to manage a variety of critical care situations effectively and provide high-quality patient care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide patient education and emotional support for families
- Remain up to date with critical care standards and best practices
- Be adaptable to rotating shifts as needed
- Provide excellent patient care while maintaining patient safety and comfort in high-pressure environments
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association ONLY
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – American Heart Association ONLY
Short Description:
As an ICU Float Registered Nurse, you will work across different units, including MICU, SICU, and others, providing critical care where staffing needs are the highest. You will have the opportunity to develop a broad skill set by working in various ICU specialties.
Schedule:
- Rotating shifts (Day/Evening/Night)
- Every Other Weekend (EOW)
- Holidays/On-Call/Callback/Charge duties as needed per unit's requirements
