Your Mission: To spearhead the student recruitment strategy ensuring that families, students, are keenly aware of the unique opportunities that the school presents, to ensure enrollment goals are met, and to facilitate the active involvement of parents throughout their student’s educational experience at Nurses Middle College Charter High School - Capital Region (NursesMC™-CR).
Position Overview
The Community Engagement and Enrollment Specialist will lead the school’s efforts to recruit and enroll a diverse student body. The role is focused on building strong community relationships, promoting the school’s mission, and achieving enrollment goals. In addition, the specialist will foster ongoing community engagement throughout the students’ educational journey at -NursesMC™-CR.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Enrollment
- Assist families with the application and enrollment process, offering translation services as needed.
- Track and report enrollment numbers, ensuring goals are met, and actively managing a student waiting list.
- Provide regular reports on recruitment and enrollment progress.
- Manage and analyze recruitment and enrollment data.
- Assists families and students with transition into and out of the school.
- Meet with families in and out of school to remove barriers to the school application process.
- Work with the school nurse, and academic team to transition newly enrolled students into the school.
- Respond to parents via google voice calls, messages, and emails to assist with the application process.
- Work flexible hours to meet the needs of families during the enrollment process which may include evenings and weekends.
- Communicate with all families wishing to withdraw. Track and document reasons for withdrawal. Ensure appropriate withdrawal paperwork is completed. Collect all school-issued property.
Community Engagement
- Identify and build partnerships with local organizations and schools to host community information sessions and events.
- Establish informational tables at events, canvass neighborhoods, and implement outreach programs to support student recruitment.
- Plan and execute recruitment and community engagement strategies to increase interest from prospective students and families.
- Maintain and cultivate strong community relationships with stakeholders to bolster recruitment efforts.
- Organize open houses, and other outreach events at NursesMC™-CR and local schools/community venues.
- Disseminate promotional materials and updates to prospective students and families.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive community engagement plan and calendar in collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Consistently maintain the NursesMC™-CR brand on all marketing and presentation materials.
- Represent NursesMC™-CR brand in a professional manner during community engagement.
Social Media
- Work with marketing staff members/consultants to oversee pictures that represent the NursesMC™-CR brand.
- Take clinically appropriate pictures at school events for social media.
- Create nursing and healthcare-themed captions for all social media content.
- Consistently maintain the NursesMC™-CR brand in a professional manner on all social media postings.
- Respond to social media outlet messages such as but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in community engagement, health promotion initiatives, non-profit work, education or healthcare; experience in a school setting is a plus but not required
- Fluency in English and Spanish (preferred)
- Strong entrepreneurial instincts and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining a commitment to educational equity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive), PowerSchool, and SchoolMint.
- Reliable transportation for community events and activities.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends as required.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Current criminal background clearance with fingerprinting.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship, residency, or work visa.
Salary: $50,000-$55,000 based on experience and education. Salary based on a 40 hour work week role that requires work on weekends, evenings and some holidays.
