Job Summary
The hospice aide is a paraprofessional member of the interdisciplinary group who works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and to promote comfort. The hospice aide is responsible for observing the patient, reporting observations, and documenting care performed. Join our team and contribute to the quality, continuity, and safety of patient care.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform personal care needs, including bathing, oral hygiene, and changing bed linen
- Assist with dressing and undressing patients
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals
- Take and record vital signs
- Provide proper care and observation of patient's skin
- Report on patient's condition and significant changes
- Assist in ambulation and exercise
- Offer and assist with bedpans and urinals
- Perform range of motion and other simple procedures
- Keep patient's living area clean and orderly
- Adhere to documentation and care procedures
- Participate in quality assessment performance improvement teams
