About the Role
An MRI technologist is responsible for capturing detailed images of the internal body using magnetic resonance imaging. This technology enables the detection of problems in various parts of the body, including the chest, lungs, joints, brain, and spinal cord.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs all types of imaging procedures and operates equipment such as scanners, injectors, and monitors safely and properly.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting protocols as necessary.
- Properly screens each patient, visitor, and employee who enters the MRI facility for contraindications to admission to the magnet room.
- Reviews all images from exams, repeating sequences as needed for optimal results.
- Participates in establishing scan protocols and executing specific applications.
- Responsible for contrast administration and maintaining knowledge and practice of MRI safety techniques.
Requirements:
- Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification, with (MR) preferred.
- Licensed technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state, and/or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
- Vaccinated for Influenza, seasonal.
