Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assess physical status of newborn using age-appropriate knowledge.
- Plans, evaluates, and supervises care of all patients assigned.
- Works collaboratively with other disciplines in care of patients.
- Participates in formal and informal educational programs to improve technical skills.
- Responsible for continued learning and application to practice.
- Synthesizes patient care information to formulate appropriate nursing diagnosis.
- Responsible to provide newborn and family education.
- Work practice reflects philosophy purpose and policies of the hospital department.
- Demonstrates knowledge and competence in care of the newborn using appropriate treatments, therapies and clinical interventions.
- Responds to physical and psychological needs of high-risk mother/baby.
- Maintains current Neonatal Resuscitation Certification. Demonstrates knowledge of standards of care for newborns.

Minimum Requirements:
- Current Massachusetts RN license
- Continuing Care/Special Care or NICU experience required
- AHA BLS certification required
- NRP required
- Willingness to cross train to post partum and well newborn required
- Prior experience working as RN required STABLE required
