Key Responsibilities:
- Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations using advanced imaging equipment, adhering to physician orders and established protocols.
- Identify and document the presence or absence of disease through a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology.
- Assist physicians with invasive echocardiography procedures, including but not limited to:
- Transesophageal echocardiography.
- Echo-guided trans-catheter procedures.
- Pericardiocentesis and myocardial biopsies.
- Modify procedures as needed to meet unique patient circumstances and provide clinically valuable results.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensure/Certification (upon hire):
- Oregon Sonographer License.
- National Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI) or equivalent certification.
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association).
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year performing cardiovascular ultrasound exams OR at least 800 exams across all imaging modalities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Applied Science from a CAAHPE-accredited program in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- Experience in pediatric echocardiography and supporting advanced heart failure patients, including those with mechanical support devices.
- Familiarity with echo-guided trans-catheter procedures.
