About the Unit:
This 36-bed telemetry-capable Neuroscience Unit plays a critical role in a certified Primary Stroke Center, providing specialized care for:
✔ Stroke patients
✔ Neurosurgery recovery
✔ Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) patients
✔ Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) patients
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of nurses in delivering safe, high-quality patient care.
- Ensure adherence to National Patient Safety Goals and evidence-based practices.
- Act as a mentor, advisor, and resource for the nursing staff.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Oversee unit operations, staffing, and performance improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
✔ Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from a CCNE-accredited school (Master’s preferred)
✔ Active Maryland RN License
✔ BLS & ACLS Certifications (American Heart Association)
✔ 5 years of progressive nursing experience in neuroscience, stroke, or telemetry
✔ National Certification (preferred within one year of hire)
