Job Title: Radiology CT Technician (CT Tech) - Healthcare Position
Salary: $60,000 to $80,000 (DOE)
Position Overview:
We are actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiology CT Technician (CT Tech) to enhance our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating cutting-edge computed tomography (CT) scanners to perform essential diagnostic imaging procedures. Collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, the ideal candidate will ensure high-quality imaging and exceptional patient care, all while maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT Scans: Efficiently operate CT imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images of patients’ internal structures as ordered by physicians.
- Patient Care: Prepare patients for CT procedures, ensuring their comfort and clearly explaining the process to alleviate anxiety.
- Positioning: Accurately position patients and CT equipment to obtain the most relevant and high-resolution images.
- Collaboration: Partner with radiologists and other medical professionals to guarantee the images meet diagnostic quality standards.
- Safety Protocols: Adhere to stringent safety protocols and radiation protection standards to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning and cleanliness of CT scanners and other imaging equipment; report any technical issues promptly.
- Patient History Review: Obtain and review patient medical histories, noting any contraindications for contrast use or potential risks.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, procedures, and imaging in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Quality Control: Review images to confirm they meet diagnostic quality standards and repeat scans if necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Certification: CT certification preferred or must be obtained within a specified timeframe.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years working as a Radiology Technician with a focus on CT imaging.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
- Licensing/Certifications:
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Certified in CT (CT) by the ARRT (or eligible).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in operating CT imaging equipment.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and radiology procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
- Strong understanding of patient safety practices, infection control, and radiation protection.
Working Conditions:
- Schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 8 AM - 6:30 PM (with potential adjustments to Wednesday – Saturday once a month, Saturday to be held at the Douglas location).
- Must be able to work in a hospital or clinical setting, stand for long periods, and assist patients as needed.
