Duties
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs and respiratory status.
- Provide care in various settings, including inpatient units, ICU, PICU, and emergency medicine.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and home care management.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with facility policies.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Stay updated on advancements in respiratory care practices and medical terminology.
Experience
- Previous experience in an inpatient or clinical setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols is a plus.
- Knowledge of medication administration related to respiratory therapies.
- Strong understanding of physiology as it relates to respiratory function.
- Ability to effectively communicate medical terminology to patients and families.
- Experience in patient assessment techniques is essential for this role.
