Respiratory Care Practitioner

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients in various settings, including inpatient and ICU environments. This role requires a strong understanding of physiology, medication administration, and patient assessment to ensure optimal respiratory function and overall patient well-being.

Duties

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs and respiratory status.
• Provide care in various settings, including inpatient units, ICU, PICU, and emergency medicine.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
• Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and home care management.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with facility policies.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Stay updated on advancements in respiratory care practices and medical terminology.

Experience

• Previous experience in an inpatient or clinical setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols is a plus.
• Knowledge of medication administration related to respiratory therapies.
• Strong understanding of physiology as it relates to respiratory function.
• Ability to effectively communicate medical terminology to patients and families.
• Experience in patient assessment techniques is essential for this role.
