Director of Nursing will supervise the overall clinical operation of hiring, training / developing, and directing staff in the provision of the agency service, chart audits and filling clinical functions in compliance with agency policy and procedure, state regulations, and physician's orders.
Directs day-to-day office / clinical operations, and all field staff. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess effective communication skills both orally and in writing. Fair understanding of the issues related to the delivery of home health care services and be able to problem solve. Previous supervisory experience in a home health setting is strongly preferred.
Basic job responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following :
- Quality assurance including reviewing charts and notes
- Case management
- Coordinating referrals
- Staff education and in-services, formulates and delivers educational program
- Staff preparation for the OASIS
- Oasis Knowledge to include hands-on experience with review
- Reviewing OASIS for correct billing information
- Reconciles census
- Monitoring visits with nursing staff two to three visits a week
- Manages or resolves escalated and elevated concerns and issues
- Manages the quality and timeliness of daily functions through scheduling, monitoring attendance, and supervising assigned staff
- Knowledge of leading practice in clinical care and payor requirements
- Ensures accuracy of financial reporting and supports clinical billing leadership
- Coordinates audit requests from internal and external sources

- Consults as needed with the physician and physician office regarding patient care
- Assuring the development, implementation, and updates of the individualized plan of care
- Ensure thorough coordination and compilation of Quality Assurance the accurate OASIS collection

- Working knowledge of managed care, inpatient, outpatient, and the home health continuum, as well as utilization management and case management
- Working knowledge of the concepts associated with Performance Improvement And performs all other duties as assigned.
