Position Purpose

The purpose of the clinic floor team lead is to mentor and coach the cosmetology team members regarding overall clinic floor performance to assure the Institute achieves its major educational, service, and retail goals and objectives. Provide technical support to the cosmetology instructors and students to ensure a well-trained, empowered, and a motivated team.

Minimum Requirements

The team member in this position must exhibit certain educational and experiential requirements, including:

  • High School Diploma and Certificate from School of Cosmetology
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; articulate in English; polished phone and interpersonal skills
  • Strong working knowledge of G-Suites, Google Classroom, Microsoft Word, and Excel required.
  • Self-directed and resourceful with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks with exhibited follow-through and initiative
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Demonstrated ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Must be interested in the growth and the conduct of a socially responsible business, Commitment to company mission and vision
  • Ability to make and implement decisions
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in position
  • Strong commitment to support Company mission and goals

Responsibilities

The team member in this position must exhibit certain characteristics and perform specific duties during their daily or weekly routine. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure Aveda technical standards are consistently used by all instructors on the clinic floor.
  • Develop processes for clinic floor to enhance the student experience and productivity.
  • Effectively implement and sustain Aveda virtual curriculum initiatives.
  • Partner with Director & Education Manager(s) to ensure compliance with all NACCAS and State Board regulations.
  • Conduct on-going technical assessment of cosmetology instructors and make recommendations for training needs to Education Manager(s).
  • Provide on-going recognition, support, and motivation for cosmetology instructors and students.
  • Address student challenges in an effective and timely manner.
  • Assist Director(s) and Education Manager(s) with virtual team member reviews. ..
  • Create a sense of urgency; delegate appropriately; motivate self and team to accomplish objectives.
  • Identify and communicate potential problem issues/challenges.
  • Participate on conference calls and attend meetings as required.
  • Communicate information regarding high and/or low performance of team members as well as potential disciplinary challenges to the appropriate member of leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements

The team member in this position must be able to travel locally to events and for out-of-state training as necessary.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

The team member in this position will be expected to work in an office environment in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Sit at a desk with a computer for up to eight (8) hours per day
  • Use hands to handle objects and reach with hands and arms
  • Walk, sit, stand, balance, stoop, speak, and hear
  • See a computer screen and read paper and electronic documents
  • Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds
  • Tolerate a minimal to moderate noise level typical of a corporate office setting
