What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychotherapist, LMSW-Private Practice position at Nurtured Path?
Nurtured Path is a Grand Rapids, MI based private practice that offers individual psychotherapy dedicated to relief of distress during the child-bearing years. Nurtured Path desires to add additional 1099 contract clinicians to respond to this increased need for therapists. This is a private practice with an opportunity to work with a group of dedicated clinicians without the hassle of administrative duties.
This practice specializes in treatment for a myriad of experiences that can cause emotional distress during this important phase of life, including:
- Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders like postpartum depression, depression during pregnancy, anxiety or psychosis
- Infertility
- Miscarriage/infant death
- Termination for medical reasons
- Reproductive decisions
- Termination decisions/care
- Traumatic labor/birth
- Medically complicated pregnancy
- Adjustment to motherhood and fatherhood and developmental, parenting, or discipline concerns
- History of trauma and how it affects parenting and relationships
Qualified candidates must have:
- Fully Licensed Masters of Social Work (LMSW) in state of Michigan
- At least 2 years of psychotherapy experience
- Completed the 2-day Components of Care offered by Postpartum Support International or equivalent reproductive mental health training
- Ability to provide therapy sessions independently and competently
- Obtain own liability insurance
- Demonstrate specialization and interest in reproductive mental health
- Understand antiracist framework as it relates to mental health treatment
- Provide affirming care to the LGTBQ individuals
- NPI and CAQH registered
- Home office that offers privacy for telehealth sessions
Nurtured Path offers:

Preference to clinicians who:
- Have specialized trauma training
- Have specialized understanding/interest in working with areas of: paternal anxiety and depression, couples therapy, parenting, or other niche areas.
- Have advanced training and experience in perinatal mental health settings
- Understand neurobiology of stress
- Have Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C)
- Understand early childhood social emotional development
- Understand parent infant relationships and attachment
- Experience and training with infant mental health and reflective psychodynamic framework
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $75.00 - $120.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
